Today's Hero: This Woman Who Body-Slammed a Guy Who Groped Her
Emelia Holden, 21, is a force to be reckoned with. Holden was doing her job as a server at a pizzeria called Vinnie Van Go-Go’s in Savannah, Georgia where she was recently groped by a customer named Ryan Cherwinski. But Holden retaliated, and the restaurant's surveillance camera caught the moment she took him down.
In the clip, the man passes behind Holden and clearly gropes her backside in a deliberate manner. In turn, Holden grabs him by the shirt collar and slams him into a nearby counter.
“When I felt that happen, my first thought was that it was one of my friends…it was a really intimate touch,” Holden reported to People. “His hand went further than it should have so I was thinking, ‘There’s no way a stranger just did that.’”
After defending herself, Holden prompted a coworker to call the police.
“The guy claimed that he was just trying to push me out of the way and, ‘Oh, I barely touched you.’ Once the police saw the video, they immediately arrested him. There was no doubt that he did it,” Holden told People.
Ryan Cherwinski, 31-year-old gross man, was charged with sexual battery.
