‘Today’s Dylan Dreyer Shares Family Photos From Italy After Travel Nightmare
The Today show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer is keeping a smile on her and her family's faces despite intense travel difficulties while on a trip to Italy.
Dreyer shared photos on Instagram when she, her husband, Brian Fichera, and their three sons, Rusty, 1, Oliver, 3, and Calvin, 6, began their journey to Sicily a week ago.
Along with an airport snap of the whole crew, she wrote, "Family vacation! Little did we know these would be the clothes for the whole trip because our luggage is lost in Amsterdam. We’re not in Amsterdam. All that work packing…"
Many people shared support and suggestions for making the most of the trip without their luggage, with Al Roker even commenting, "Oh wow," and "We never check. Even when the kids were little."
Despite the lack of clothes and travel supplies, Dreyer and her family are making do, with the 41-year-old sharing sweet photos of her boys eating food, exploring, and spending time with other friends and family.
She continued to update fans on the luggage situation, writing on a post a couple of days later, "Who needs luggage when you’ve got your family?? Laughing through lost luggage and extreme heat in Sicily! What a trip!"
The next day, Dreyer shared pictures from a game of golf, time spent relaxing at the pool, and more. She wrote, "I’ve learned on Day 5 without luggage and traveling with my family that…LITERALLY NO ONE CARES WHAT I’M WEARING!"
While Dreyer and her family appear to be having a wonderful time even without their luggage, she also emphasized their desire to get their stuff back, writing, "I’ve never felt more free (although this doesn’t get you off the hook @delta and @klm…I really liked the clothes I packed and I could really use a new pair of contacts!!) In the meantime, we’ll continue to make memories!!"
Fans loved Dreyer's positivity, with one commenting, "Shame on Delta. Glad you’re being positive though. With three kids, lost luggage is extremely difficult. Keep being you Dylan. You’re an inspiration."
"You’re amazing. You can see the bright side of any bad situation. And the memories you’re making - priceless ??," said another.
Some people also shared suggestions to avoid this situation or make it easier in the future, with one popular option being trackable tags (like Apple AirTags) so that they always know where their bags are.
Clearly, Dreyer's boys take after her, sharing big smiles with the camera in her latest post. In the first photo, the trio of brothers looked adorable, sitting side by side with the sun shining behind them. They even tried golfing with their mom!
Dreyer added, "Pure joy and happiness. We are so blessed to travel with our family on the trip of a lifetime to Sicily."
She also noted that they still haven't received their luggage a week after it first got lost, but hopefully, the family will be reunited with their belongings soon!
