'Today' Show Stars Celebrate Fall With Viral 'Sweater Weather' Trend
The Today Show cast celebrated the arrival of fall by re-enacting a classic Saturday Night Live sketch.
For the past few years, the audio from the Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph-starring sketch "Sweater Weather" has been used on TikTok for videos of users' cozy autumn outfits. Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and Jacob Soboroff decided to make their own clip, showing off their fall-ready outfits.
In the video, shared both on Instagram and TikTok, Kotb donned a white coat over a fuchsia top, while Guthrie, who stood next to her, wore a red sweater paired with flared black pants. Roker and Soboroff went for blue suits, though Roker took a more fashionable approach, accessorizing with a floral brooch and an orange-trimmed handkerchief.
Today show fans shared their love for the funny clip in the comments.
"I LOVE this! That SNL segment never gets old!" exclaimed one fan. Another commented, "You all are hilarious ??????."
Others complimented the women's excellent outfits. "I love Hoda’s purple sweater today!!" gushed a commenter, speaking about the knitted lilac jumper Kotb wore on air Sept. 29, while another inquired, "where is Savannah’s top from? love it."
The Today show also launched a new food series during Friday's episode called "Today Table," where viewers and the cast were shown how to make various autumn meals, including an apple-stuffed pork roulade and apple pie. Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager had the opportunity to learn how to make turkey meatloaf with roasted mashed potatoes in the Today kitchen.
