'Today's Al Roker & Craig Melvin Both Nominated in 'Sexiest Men Alive' Categories
It looks like Al Roker and Craig Melvin have a new accomplishment to add to each of their growing lists of life accolades!
Both of the Today anchors have been nominated for People's Sexiest Men of 2023, as part of the publication's popular Readers' Choice poll.
On Sept. 5, the outlet announced that the famed weather forecaster will be competing against Michael Douglas, Kurt Russell and Pierce Brosnan for the title of sexiest grandpa, while Craig is in a group with Mark Consuelos, Nate Burleson and George Stephanopoulos, all up for sexiest morning show host.
The highly-coveted list is released yearly, with winners decided by popular vote among the Readers' Choice selections. As for who will come out on top and be chosen as the Sexiest Man Alive, the publication notes their "editors are putting in the work planning photoshoots; studying social media" to ultimately crown the winner, who appears on the cover of the magazine.
The victors of each category will be revealed on Nov. 8, with additional inclusions such as sexiest funny guy, sexiest TV star, sexiest musician, sexiest first-time dad and more.
There are even specific categories this year tailored to what's happening in real-time, like "sexiest guy you're streaming due to the strike" and "sexiest Ken," obviously as a result of the Barbie film hype that completely took over the summer.
In most recent years, Chris Evans (2022), Paul Rudd (2021), Michael B. Jordan (2020), John Legend (2019), and Idris Elba (2018) have taken home the official title of People's Sexiest Man Alive.
Fans who wish to cast their votes can do so online via interactive poll.
