'Today's Jenna Bush Hager Shares Candid Confession From Teenage Diary
Jenna Bush Hager is never one to hold back when it comes to opening up about personal things.
The Today With Hoda & Jenna host admitted the "embarrassing" thing that she was worried about in ninth grade in a conversation with co-host Hoda Kotb and guest Amy Poehler about their teenage diaries.
After Poehler admitted that most of what she wrote about as a teenager was relationships and "the amount of love I gave to a person that was maybe not the right person to give [it to]," Hager revealed that, in ninth grade, she was more concerned with whether or not she could "hold" onto her virginity.
She said, "I also had a looking at myself in the mirror and hoping I’d be able to save my virginity post," causing Poehler and Kotb to earnestly break out laughing at the brutally honest admission.
"I was just worried in ninth grade that I wouldn’t have the wherewithal to hold it, you know?" added Hager.
Poehler joked that teenaged Hager was likely telling herself, "You can do it, you can hold it, hang in there, you’re so close!”
Despite her candor in the recent episode about her diary entries, Hager also admitted that the journal entry was an "embarrassing post to look back at."
After that, the three women moved on from the topic, and Hager didn't go into further detail about her dating life as a teenager.
Today, Hager is happily married to her husband of 15 years, Henry Chase Hager. The two share three kids–Mila, 10, Poppy, 7, and Hal, 3. Her eldest just celebrated her birthday this past week.
The tendency to be brutally honest seems to run in the family, as an appearance by Mila on the Today show in December led to another hilarious "truth bomb" about Hager.
