Today's Wordle answer on Saturday, September 2, 2023, is ONION.

My first three guesses were, as always, TEARS, MOUND and FLICK. Knowing that "I" was in the correct place was a huge help, and I knew "O" and "N" were somewhere in today's word. But even as I guessed ONION on my fourth try, I didn't know if there would actually be two double letters in the answer. Spoiler alert: There were two double letters, indeed.
