Toddler tells on parents when she hands police a bag of drugs during traffic stop
Any parent knows that eventually, once your kid starts walking and talking, they’re going to get you in a little trouble. That curse word you swear you only used once in front of them will become their new favorite word in public, or they’ll tell Aunt Mildred what you really think of her ambrosia salad.
Hopefully, however, your toddler won’t turn into a narc when you’re pulled over by police and try to hand your drugs to the officer. Of course, you shouldn’t have drugs near a toddler, obviously. The toddler in question probably felt she was just doing her civic duty.
State troopers pulled over a car on Thursday in New Scotland, N.Y., after they noticed a 3-year-old girl was not properly secured in the back seat, according to police.
The press release reads: “The little girl reached under the front seat and retrieved a zippered pouch. She opened it and held it up, so the trooper could see the contents. The pouch contained a bag of marijuana and a metal grinding device and smoking pipe, both containing the drug.”
The two adults in the front seat, 26-year-old Scott Hill and 33-year-old Megan Karl, were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Hill was also charged with possession of marijuana.
The toddler was turned over to relatives, and Child Protective Services was notified of the arrests.
