Tom Hardy's new Leonardo DiCaprio tattoo — and five other bad celebrity tats

Tom Hardy is a man of his word, so when he lost a bet to Leonardo DiCaprio, well, he made good on it. Even though it meant getting a really bad tattoo.

A photo posted by one of Hardy’s fans over the weekend revealed the actor has “Leo knows all” tattooed on his right arm. People reports that the body art is the result of a bet that Hardy and DiCaprio made after co-starring in the 2015 movie The Revenant. DiCaprio proposed that Hardy would earn an Oscar nod for his performance as the villainous John Fitzgerald, but Hardy disagreed. They decided that whichever one of them was wrong would have to get a tattoo of the other’s choice.

It could have been worse. Hardy revealed to Esquire in 2016 that DiCaprio originally wanted the ink to read the longer, “Leo knows everything.”

Hardy also can take heart in the fact that several other celebs have had tattoos just as ridiculous as his latest. Look back at five more of the most memorable.

1. Johnny Depp’s “Winona Forever”/“Wino Forever” tattoo

A lot of people get inked for their significant other, only to later break up and be stuck with a permanent reminder of their broken heart. That was the case for Depp, who had “Winona Forever” inked on his arm when he dated Winona Ryder for four years in the 1990s. Seriously, though, was that worse than the “Wino forever” body art he was left with when he changed it after their breakup? We don’t think so.

2. Mike Tyson’s face tattoo

The boxer must know his infamous tattoo isn’t the greatest of all time, but he doesn’t regret it. “A lot of stuff happened out of this tattoo, a lot of good stuff,” he told Sports Illustrated in 2016. It certainly attracted a lot of attention, including a prime spot for it and Tyson in 2009’s hit comedy The Hangover. Still…

3. Justin Bieber’s tattoo of his mom’s eye

In 2013, Bieber — who’s now a body art aficionado — was still working on a sleeve of tattoos that covered his entire arm. He made some progress by adding an image of mom Pattie Mallette’s eye during a time when he needed some supervision. Then 19, Bieber was just coming off that whole mop bucket/Bill Clinton scandal and showing up late for his own concerts. But to have a single eye staring at you at all times? Totally creepy.

Back when the “Praying” singer was still Ke$ha, she had a sassy message imprinted on the inside of her lip … where it can rarely be seen. She has a lovely smile for someone who brushes her teeth with a bottle of Jack and has a tattoo in her mouth!

5. Megan Fox’s Marilyn Monroe tattoo

The Transformers actress was a huge fan of the late blond bombshell but decided against having Monroe’s face on permanent display on her arm a little too late. In 2012, Fox explained to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show that she was undergoing the painful process of removal of the art, which she had to cover when she worked. “I was stubborn, and I thought that I would love it forever or that it would be like a book of my life, all the things that I loved when I was younger,” Fox told Leno. “And it’s not that at all.”
