December was a month for celebrating, and many of your favorite recipes reflect that! Read on to see which ten recipes were the most popular last month!
No. 10: Fettuccine with Champagne Cream Sauce and Sage Toast
This dish is perfect for date night. Rach starts with a sauce made from champagne, cream, sage, shallots, garlic and gorgonzola dolce cheese, then folds in thick pappardelle or fettucine pasta. Yum!
This is called Christmas pasta, but you can really eat it all year round. It’s a delectable short rib ragu served over rigatoni or fat spaghetti.
Tip: Make your ragu a night ahead and chill, so you can then scrape off the fat layer in the morning. The flavor will develop the longer it sits.
Bonus tip: This would be a great addition to your favorite lasagna recipe.
No. 8: Baked Pasta with Butternut Squash, Sausage & Ricotta
For this festive and special dish, Rach cooks and mashes a butternut squash and adds ricotta, brown butter and sage, to make a wonderful, thick, creamy sauce. She adds Italian sausage cooked in chicken stock, a pound of cooked rigatoni or similar pasta and grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, mixes and pours into a baking dish. She tops with more Parmigiano-Reggiano and puts in the oven just long enough to melt and brown the cheese. Delish!
No. 7: Cookies and Cream Fudge
This fudge has only three ingredients, and the recipe was created by a kid! Just melt some white chocolate with a can of sweetened condensed milk and mix in a whole package of crushed Oreos. Pour into a wax-paper-lined dish, let set, and slice!
This Hungarian beef stew is the perfect dish for a cold winter night. Beef chuck roast is slow-cooked with carrots, parsnips and celery in a sauce of beef stock, onions, garlic and lots of paprika and other spices. Potatoes, tomatoes and mild green peppers are added at the end. Yum!
No. 5: Chicken Thighs with Orange and Rosemary, and Saffron Rice with Pine Nuts and Golden Raisins
This rich Mediterranean dish is is packed with flavor from lots of rosemary, garlic, shallots, butter, olives, marsala, sliced oranges, saffron and pine nuts. Yum!
04. Pulled Chicken and Black Bean Nacho Casserole
This simple and delicious casserole is the perfect weeknight family meal. Rach combines cooked shredded chicken thighs with a black bean and tomato sauce and serves with cheese, lettuce, sour cream and a fresh salsa over tortilla chips. Delish!
No. 3: Prosciutto-Wrapped Chicken with Garlic and Herb Cheese
This delicious dish only features five ingredients! Rach stuffs chicken breast with Boursin garlic and herb cheese, then wraps in prosciutto and pan cooks. When the chicken is cooked through, she removes to a serving platter and wilts spinach in the same pan she cooked the chicken in! Brilliant!
No. 2: Trisha Yearwood’s Cream Cheese Roll-ups (a.k.a. Redneck Sushi)
Trisha makes these delicious bite-sized party pinwheels by first blending cream cheese, salsa and green onions. She slathers that on tortillas, adds cooked bacon and deli ham, then rolls up. She covers the rolls in plastic wrap and chills until they’re very cold, then slices into little pinwheels!

Despite all of the holiday indulging, it’s clear that people wanted to keep an eye on their waistlines, as Dr. Ian’s healthy smoothie came in first place! He starts with apple cider, adds pears, blueberries, strawberries, flax seed oil, strawberry yogurt, lemon juice and kale! Dr. Ian suggests replacing one meal per day with this nutrient-dense and delicious drink!
