Topeka Food Truck festival opens this weekend at Gage Park, what to expect

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The next Topeka Food Truck Festival is just around the corner with plenty of fun activities and different foods for locals to try.

Topekans can head down to Gage Park’s West Lake Shelter House and amphitheater to take part in the festival which runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27. The festival will showcase Topeka and Shawnee County businesses, entertainment and vendors to help introduce people to new opportunities they might have missed.

More than a dozen food trucks are due to headline the event, bringing with them a wide variety of different flavors for people to test out. The full lineup includes the following:

  • Poppin Minis

  • Dj’s Catering

  • Stumpy’s Smoked Cheese

  • Flavor Wagon_785

  • The Burger Bus

  • Hook & Que

  • JLG Mexi-Q

  • Manila Snow Cone Company

  • Southern Star

  • Grounded on the Go

  • Kona Ice of Lawrence/Topeka/Manhattan

  • Pineapple Dream Topeka

  • Tod’s BBQ

  • La Creperie Co.

  • El zocalo

  • Essential Henna

  • DREAM Prospecting

  • Over The Top Sandwich

  • Cookies by Gayla

  • Ronn’s Jazzy Doggs

  • Rosi’s Food

  • Cooking with Mike

  • MongoQ BBQ

New Topeka Chick-fil-A nears opening, looks to hire 80 workers

Vendors participating in the event include T-Mobile USA and Dream Prospecting. Live entertainment will come from “The Paradize Band,” Kyle Carpenter and the Shawnee Heights High School drumline.

People are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the event for the best experience. Other activities and nearby attractions people can take advantage of include the following:

  • Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Rec and Roll Van.

  • Foam pit

  • Boys & Girls Club charity basket raffle.
