Tori Spelling and her kids bullied over their sponsored post for muffins: 'Might explain why they're all overweight'
Days after Khloé Kardashian was called out for promoting diet shakes that critics say set an unhealthy example of body image, Tori Spelling is getting grief over her own sponsored post — because, critics say, she’s making her kids “overweight.”

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star and mother of five posted an ad and Instagram Stories content for Little Bites muffins, which features her children — Liam, 12, Stella, 10, Hattie, 7, Finn, 6, and Beau, 2 — enjoying the bite-sized baked goods.
“This mom of 5 finds snack time a balancing act between pleasing my kiddos and feeling good as a parent about what I’m feeding them,” Spelling wrote in the caption, praising the snack for containing “no high fructose or corn syrup.”

But what reads as an innocent-enough post has been attacked by trolls body-shaming the actress’s children, whose father is actor Dean McDermott.
Though plenty of moms commented that their own kids love the snack, some accused Spelling of selling her family out by giving them an unhealthy treat — “processed crap,” in the words of one critic — to make money for a sponsored post.
“You should definitely not be happy about feeding these to your kids,” scolded a commenter. “I know this ad is paying you, but kids should learn healthy eating before it’s too late. These are designed to be addicted because of the processed sugar.”
One commenter made it personal.
“Might explain why they’re all overweight,” the troll wrote.
Others piled on, saying they were “concerned” for the kids.
“I have to agree with you because I used to pack crap like that for my kids lunches,” another commenter wrote. “I have a son who’s had a weight problem and as a parent I couldn’t just be an enabler anymore. I changed his diet and he looks and feels a lot healthier. Not making fun of her kids, just concerned … but I guess it’s her responsibility.”
“Could be the bags of sugar ‘muffins’ she gives, could be the other s**t she feeds them just so she can make a few bucks,” read another comment.
But by and large, Spelling’s followers were appalled by the “cruel” body-shaming attack.
“Kids can easily lose weight, but what can you do about your face,” a fan fired back at the troll. “Think about it before you go throwing those rocks.”
“Stop shaming children and moms,” wrote another. “You should be ashamed.”
“Well, glad you made that lovely comment,” a commenter added. “Everyone take a look at Mrs. Perfect and her keyboard comments.
“You probably went to kick some puppies after you posted that,” another fan wrote. “Here’s hoping karma works her magic with you.”
Spelling hasn’t yet responded to the jibe, but it’s not the first time trolls have bullied her brood. The actress lashed out at critics last fall when they picked on her children’s appearance in a back-to-school photo she posted.
“I am a proud mama bear and I enjoy sharing our family journey with my family, friends, fans and online supportive and loyal community,” she said at the time. “And thank you to all the #mamabears out there. We always have each other’s backs! For all the individuals on here that felt the need to #momshame and #kidshame me and my children I say, ‘Shame on you!’
“I was raised to believe that if you can’t say anything nice about someone then don’t say anything at all. The judgment here should be on your manners. Empowerment goes both ways. Lift others up and you in turn lift yourself up.”
