Tori Spelling’s Mom Addresses Her Split From Dean McDermott

Candy Spelling will always have her daughter Tori Spelling's back.

The Stories From Candyland author shared a few brief–but very supportive–comments regarding her daughter's separation from Dean McDermott.

"[Tori's] doing great," the 77-year-old told TMZ on Saturday, July 8.

Candy's statement continued, "I love my daughter and I support her in whatever she does."

When asked if the couple's separation was "for the best," she repeated the simple phrase, "I support my daughter."

Candy also confirmed that her support would include financial assistance if necessary. "Of course, I will always be there for her," she said.

While Candy and her daughter haven't always had the best relationship, with the feud seeming to peak during Tori's tenure on reality TV, the two have been in a much better place recently.

This past fall, Tori, 50, appeared on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live and explained that their mutual friend and Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star Josh Flagg was instrumental in helping get her relationship with her mom to where it is today. "It’s like next level right now," she said, "I’m really really happy."

"I hadn’t seen her since before COVID," Tori revealed. "And then Josh was like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna do a family dinner at her place.’ So we went and had a great night."

Flagg, 37, was with Candy at the time TMZ approached her, and when he was asked if this was the right move for the couple, he answered with a sure-sounding "yes" before adding that he "really hopes" the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum and McDermott call it quits "because Tori deserves a really good life."
