Tori Spelling shares her 'new blended family tradition' with husband Dean McDermott and his ex, Mary Jo Eustace
Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace have made peace. Now, the blended family is celebrating the holidays together.
Spelling and McDermott, along with their five children — Liam, 12, Stella, 11, Hattie, 8, Finn, 7, and Beau, 2, gathered for dinner with Eustace at Amici in Los Angeles on Friday, along with McDermott and Eustace’s son Jack, 21 and her daughter Lola, 14. Using hashtags #blendedisbest and #ourfamily, Spelling shared how the group came together despite a complicated backstory.

After meeting on the set of the Lifetime movie Mind Over Murder in 2005, Spelling and McDermott fell in love while both were still married, McDermott to Eustace and Spelling to Charlie Shanian. In 2006, after Spelling and McDermott divorced their spouses, they wed in Fiji. The awkward dynamic between Spelling and Eustace was detailed on the 2014 reality series True Tori.
“Something good came out of 2019,” Spelling wrote on Instagram under a selfie taken with Eustace. “14 years ago I never thought this pic would ever happen. Society tells us ex’s can’t be friends. Society SUCKS! I truly enjoy this new friendship I’ve formed with my hubby’s ex @maryjoeustace. And, tonight we started a new blended family tradition celebrating the holidays together.”
Eustace posted the same shot on Instagram, writing, “Post Christmas celebration” and the hashtag #blendedfamily.
Back in October, Eustace appeared on an episode of McDermott’s podcast, Daddy Issues With Dean McDermott, Adam Hunter and Nicky Paris, where she discussed her relationship with both Spelling and McDermott. She explained that she decided to bury the past at Jack’s 21st birthday celebration in October.
"I had made a decision before I went to the dinner that whatever had happened in the past, we'd moved beyond it, and there was no animosity, and I really just wanted to move on. Dean and Jack were getting on famously. They're getting on really, really great, which I love, so their relationship is super, super strong," Eustace said. "What's the point anymore?... I just want everybody to do super, super well."
After the birthday party, Eustace posted her first photo with Spelling, whom she referred to as a “new friend.”
