You simply can never go wrong with the classics. This week, Tracee Ellis Ross stepped out in the happiest summer ensemble featuring various closet staples—and one very coveted new accessory.

While walking in New York City's SoHo Tuesday, the actress looked radiant in a yellow, white, and black striped Prada tank top with the brand's logo emblazoned on the front; high-waisted, straight-leg blue jeans; and chunky all-white Birkenstocks. She finished the casual streetwear look with a white cross-body bucket pouch with an eyelet design and a pair of oversized golden hoop earrings—her futuristic black Balenciaga Swift Oval Sunglasses offering a welcome contrast to the otherwise timeless ensemble.

Earlier this summer, the Black-ish star attended Balenciaga's haute couture show in Paris, where entertainment figures including Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, and Nicole Kidman strutted the runway in Demna's designs. Ellis Ross made an entrance in a monochrome black look from the fashion house consisting of an asymmetric pleated cape maxi dress and thigh-high leather heeled boots. She carried a matching shoulder bag and wore large geometric silver earrings.

It was a divergence from her usual bright, colorful style. In June, Ellis Ross attended the U.K. launch of her hair product line, Pattern Beauty, wearing a knit midi dress in an electric tangerine shade fresh from Aje's resort 2023 collection. The structural piece included subtle shoulder padding, an open back, and raffia detailing on the bell-shaped skirt. Her bold orange accessories—pointed-toe pumps from L.A.-based shoe label Femme and chunky hoop earrings from Uncommon Matters—completed the monochrome look.
