Tracy Tutor's Textured Holiday Décor Brings Unexpected Warmth to the Season

Tracy Tutor is no stranger to beautiful homes. After all, the talented multi-hyphenate—she's a real estate agent, bestselling author, and entrepreneur, just to name a few—spends her days showing and selling some of the most gorgeous homes in Los Angeles. But when she's not working as the only female realtor on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing Tutor spends her days in her own dream home in Beverly Hills.

The Spanish style home may have been built in 1928, but Tutor made sure to bring in an interior style that felt not only contemporary, but soft and collected as well. So it's no surprise that when it comes to holiday décor, Tutor embraced a style that brings that softness to life.

"The past few years I’ve been really drawn to neutral palettes," Tutor tells MyDomaine. "They are very soothing and can give a home a warm feeling without going over the top."

She describes her holiday décor as warm, textured, and natural, a style that may not be traditional, but is instantly inviting.

"I wanted everyone who stepped inside to feel invited," she says. "I will have a full house hosting all of my family through the holidays, and I wanted to do something special and memorable; I changed it up this year and went away from my traditional red and gold holiday theme."

Tutor, who lives with her daughters Juliet and Scarlett and dogs Jake, Sadie, and Rip, eschewed those more expected holiday décor choices in favor of something that felt elevated, but still attainable.

"Since this is my family’s first Christmas in our new home, I wanted to try something completely different and decided to take a leap and incorporated pampas grass for the first time," she explains. "It’s inexpensive but bold and dramatic which elevated the look and helped to tie every space together."

Incorporating an item like pampas grass, which can also be used long after the ornaments are off the tree and the holiday-specific pieces are put away until next season, is a great example of Tutor bringing one of her top decorating tips to life.

"Find pieces that anchor a room and build from there," she says. "Reminder, you don’t have to break the bank to have an incredibly well-styled home."
