Spring is so close you can almost taste it. The season officially starts on March 19 (less than a month!) and Trader Joe’s is here with a yummy new sauce to get the party started early.

It’s called Limone Alfredo Sauce, and it was spotted on Trader Joe’s shelves by Instagram account @TraderJoesAficionado, who honestly seems doubtful about the whole thing.

“New Limone Alfredo Sauce! Not going to lie...not too excited for this one,” they wrote: “I like jarred pasta sauces, I do but I mostly like good old marinara ones. Alfredo is tricky because it’s a cream based sauce so I think fresh is best! I have yet to find a good jarred Alfredo sauce. And this one has a lot of ingredients that are not needed.”

But plenty of people in the comments said they tried it, and that it was awesome. “I used it on air fried cauliflower gnocchi and it was soooo good!” one person wrote. “Trying tonight with the ricotta and lemon ravioli! Also adding zucchini and spinach. Should be good!” another said. They later circled back and said that the sauce was “AMAZING.” How could anyone doubt TJ’s ability to turn out something phenomenal?

According to the label, the sauce is “a bright and creamy pasta sauce made with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.” More info from the label: “Made just for us in Italy, this zesty and creamy pasta sauce is perfect with a long cut pasta and chicken or shrimp. Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and ground pepper.”

This is the perfect time for this sauce roll-out given that adding a little lemon to any dish makes it taste like spring. You know what they say—if you eat it, spring will come. OK, fine. They don't say that. But they probably should.
