Trader Joe's Announced the Removal of Nearly 500 Products, and Shoppers are Furious
Trader Joe's
As it goes for most things in life, when you find something that you like, you tend to stick with it. A big part of the draw to shop at Trader Joe’s, for example, are the hundreds of unique products exclusive to the popular neighborhood grocery chain that you will absolutely not find anywhere else. But now that the year is coming to a close, super-fans are going to have to part ways with dozens of their favorite items, leaving a large food-shaped hole in the lives of many loyal customers.

Most people might be surprised to learn that Trader Joe’s actually has a podcast of their own. And in a recent episode, the quirky grocery chain announced that they would be removing 469 seasonal items from their shelves come December 31. A lot of these items happen to be past products which were brought back for the season, however, included in the list are 86 brand-new items that were released earlier this year.

Included in the list of winter items that shoppers will have to part ways with are fan-favorites such as Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s, Dark Chocolate Oranges, Peppermint Hold-the-Cones and Gingerbread Ice Cream. Super-fans will also have to say goodbye to a large swath of the more festive offerings, including Peppermint Flavored Baking Chips, Jingle Jangle, Dark Chocolate Covered Shortbread Cookies, Taste Test of Caramels, Pretzel Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Sauce, Shimmering Candy Cane Body Butter, Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Cremes and Cranberry Butter Cookies.

And while it will be quite the shock to those who are big time fans of some of these delicious seasonal offerings, Trader Joe’s certainly cannot be blamed for making a little extra space for what is to come in the new year. If there is one thing the popular grocery chain is consistently good at, it is their ability to whip up tons of new seasonal items on a whim. And as one item leaves, another is likely slotted to take its place on the shelf eventually.
