Trader Joe's Just Brought Back It's 'Weird' Seasonal Pasta and Shoppers Have a Lot to Say About It

When it comes to unique eats from around the world, Trader Joe’s does an excellent job at providing shoppers with a variety of options to choose from. Within the popular neighborhood grocers extensive collection, plenty of items have the ability to introduce the average customer to a whole world of cuisine they may not have originally been unaware of.

Most recently, fans have been flocking to their local TJ’s storefront to get a taste of the widely talked about Tortilla Espa?ola, which is the grocers take on a classic Spanish dish. But now the attention has been turned to a truly odd looking ravioli that fans have been saying resembles a “bag of teeth,” of all things.

Trader Joe’s Ricotta Cuoricini Ravioli is back for the season, and if you can get past the unusual shape and appearance, you might just be surprised by how good the ravioli’s actually taste. This 8.8-ounce package features thin stuffed pasta with tasty ricotta cheese, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and a vinegar wine reduction inside; all of which can be boiled and ready for consumption in just 5 to 6 minutes. The entire package can easily serve two people and retails for only $3.99, making this seasonal offering a pretty sweet deal despite its very strange appearance.

In a post shared to Instagram by Trader Joe’s New, the raviolis were described as looking “pretty funny” after being cooked, comparing the look of the Italian dish to “teeth.” However, the admin behind the Instagram account still admitted that the ravioli’s were “pretty good.”

Other commenters who were intrigued by Trader Joe’s latest return to the pasta section were quick to pile onto the joke, with some claiming that the raviolis “look like kidneys.” Others even admitted to thinking they were looking at a “bag full of ears.”

Not all feedback resulted in jokes, however, and if you look at a popular Reddit post from last year regarding the classic Italian ravioli, plenty of shoppers sang their praises for the dish, calling it “amazing” and even claiming it to be their “new favorite TJ’s meal.”

In any case, if you’re brave enough to stomach the odd resemblance of body parts and give Ricotta Cuoricini Ravioli a shot, it seems as though you will be pleasantly surprised by the results. One experienced shopper even recommended topping the ravioli’s with TJ’s Heavenly Hash and sautéing with butter and garlic for an elevated dinner experience, but the sky is truly the limit with this traditional Italian meal.
