Trader Joe's Just Issued a Nationwide Recall on Another Popular Frozen Item—Here's What You Need to Know

Another day, another recall—and this time, it's back at Trader Joe's. Fresh off the heels of a popular frozen food item being recalled last month, TJ's is in hot water with fans once again as another item is being removed from shelves.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS), CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation—a distributor of Trader Joe's—has recalled 61,839 pounds of the Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings. Effective immediately, the nationwide recall has been issued due to possible contamination with foreign materials—specifically hard plastic from a permanent marker pen.

The dumplings in question were produced on December 7, 2023 and include the 6-ounce boxes with plastic trays that contain six pieces. Lot codes for the affected boxes are “03.07.25.C1-1” and “03.07.25.C1-2”—both printed on the sides of the box. The establishment number “P-46009” will be listed on the inside of the USDA mark of inspection.

The product issue was discovered after complaints were received from consumers about finding the hard plastic in the steamed dumplings. Thankfully, however, there have yet to be any reports of illness or injury due to the consumption of the product.

If you happen to have the product in question stored in your freezer, FSIS urges you to discard them or return them to Trader Joe's. For those with questions about the recall, you can contact CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation’s Consumer Experience Department at 800-544-6855.
