Travis Kelce Explains How His Friend Group Reacted to His First Date With Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce is opening up what led to his relationship with Taylor Swift, with the Kansas City Chiefs player even sharing what his friends told him when he went on his first date with the singer.

Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Kelce discussed meeting Swift in New York City for dinner after all the effort put into connecting with her. He shared that his friends were the most nervous about the date, telling the publication, "Everybody around me telling me: Don’t f— this up! And me sitting here saying: Yeah—got it.”

On the other hand, Kelce admitted that he wasn't too nervous before meeting the "Blank Space" singer in person: "When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”

Luckily, it seems like everything went well, as the two are still going strong, with Kelce even flying to Argentina to support Swift at one of her Eras Tour concerts.

While Kelce is open now, sharing his feelings regarding Swift and their relationship, he also admitted to being "uncharacteristically guarded" about his comments at the start, not wanting to mess things up. He said, "That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away."

Kelce and Swift's connection first started when the tight end tried to give Swift his number at one of her Eras Tour concerts early this year via a friendship bracelet. While that didn't work, someone on her team was "playing cupid" and reached out.

They were first reported to be hanging out together in early September, and on Sept. 24, Swift attended her first Chiefs football game in the suite with Kelce's mom, Donna Kelce.

Since then, Swift has attended other games and she and Kelce have been spotted going out more. When Kelce attended Swift's Eras Tour concert in Argentina, the couple even shared a sweet kiss after the show.
