Travis Kelce & Jason Kelce’s Reaction to Dad Ed Talking to Taylor Swift Proves That Some Things Never Change
This is not something we had on our 2023 bingo card, but NFL Supermom Donna Kelce has been spending a lot of time with megastar Taylor Swift since the start of football season. Because unless you have somehow mastered the art of staying off social media (teach us your ways!), you know that rumors have been flying over whether Travis Kelce and Swift are dating (spoiler alert: THEY ARE). Travis — the “absolute best uncle” — and his brother Jason Kelce talked about Swift’s latest appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game, and the “terrifying” scene they saw unfold.
Their dad Ed Kelce was talking to Swift.

“You know Dad like I know Dad,” Travis said to Jason in Wednesday’s episode of their podcast.

“He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift,” Jason cut in.
“I felt terrible for Taylor for being [subjected to that],” Travis said.
While mom Donna is a reliable and safe conversationalist, the brothers agreed that Ed is a wild card. That feels true of most dads. Even, apparently, dads who have watched their closest family members successfully navigate the spotlight and their many interactions with the press. “If you see Dad talking to anybody and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation’s going,” Jason said.
Yiiikes! The two mused that he was pumping the Eras Tour singer up and telling her he’s started listening to her music more.
“He’s probably saying, ‘I’ve taken all your CDs out at the local library and I’ve burned them into my computer because that is legal as a tax-paying citizen,’” Jason joked. And ding, ding, ding! That definitely wins the Cringiest Thing We’ve Heard All Week Award. And it’s Wednesday.
The brothers did end up sharing some nice words about Papa Kelce.
“We can’t keep kicking Dad just because we enjoy doing it, man, and our dad is the best f*cking dad in the world,” Travis said. “He is a great converser. It’s where Jason gets his storytelling and all of his charisma. We’re saying this just because we like to rag on the big guy.”
Even though he still may not be certain about what the “big guy” said, Travis ultimately put his faith in his dad: “Thanks, Dad, for not making me look bad, partner.”
And thanks in advance from us for keeping up the good work, Ed! Please don’t make Travis look bad, partner. Because we ship this relationship so hard.
These are some of the reality-TV alumnae we love to follow as they tackle motherhood.
