Travis Kelce Opens Up About Taylor Swift Attending His Game
Travis Kelce broke his silence on rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift attending his latest Chiefs game.
On Sept. 27, over 78,000 Swifties tuned in to watch the YouTube premiere of the NFL player's latest episode of podcast New Heights, co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce. The brothers teased fans at first, building suspense by referencing the pop star's recent appearance at Arrowhead Stadium, but eventually gave Swift's fans what they came for.
33 minutes into the podcast, Jason announced "Alright, we're here." He noted that they'd been avoiding the subject out of respect for Travis' personal life, but now that it's seemingly confirmed the tight end and the Grammy winner are dating, they have to address it.
"What is your life like right now?," asked Jason to his brother. Travis shared, "I might have noticed a few things. Paparazzi outside my house, s--t like that for sure." Jason was baffled by his sibling experiencing a new level of fame, questioning, "How did you know they were paparazzi?," to which Travis responded, "They have a camera in their hands and they’re screaming my name."
Jason addressed the viral TikToks of women trolling their boyfriends by saying Swift made the athlete famous, joking, "How does it feel that Taylor Swift has finally put you on the map?" Travis laughed it off and then spoke candidly about the singer.
"Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy," he said. "I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. The friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light. On top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course."
He added that Swift attending the show was "just impressive. It was very impressive."
Travis continued, "To see the slow motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with mom, to see how the Chiefs kingdom was all excited she was there, that s—t was absolutely hysterical, it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure. And then we just slid off in the getaway car in the end," a line that tickled Swifties.
The Chiefs player also opened up about accepting responsibility for bringing this attention upon himself, starting with the moment he decided to shoot his shot with the singer at one of her Eras Tour concerts by attempting to gift her a friendship bracelet with his number on it.
"I know that I brought all this attention to me, I’m the one that did the whole friendship bracelet thing and told everybody how butthurt I was that I didn’t get to meet Taylor. You miss 100% shots you don’t take, baby. What’s real is that it is my personal life," he said. "I want to respect both of our lives. She’s not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season doing other guys’ shows like the McAfee show and any other show I go on from here on out."
Travis drew the line on where his boundaries stand when it comes to speaking about the blossoming romance. "I’m enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend. So everything moving forward, I think talking about sports and saying ‘alright now’ will have to be kind of where I keep it," he said.
