If there's one thing Travis Kelce loves—after football and Taylor Swift, of course—it's an unexpected business venture.
The Chiefs tight end is teaming up with quarterback Patrick Mahomes to break into his newest industry: the restaurant biz.
The dynamic duo announced the exciting news on Thursday, March 14, revealing that their new steakhouse, 1587 Prime, which is a combination of their jersey numbers, will be open for business in the Loews Kansas City Hotel by early 2025.
Tosh Berman, co-founder of global hospitality group Noble 33, which is partnering with the pair to make the eatery a reality, told Good Morning America in an exclusive statement that the athletes are "natural hosts and can't wait to bring a unique modern American steakhouse experience to Kansas City."
The two are foodies in their own rights and worked with the group to "combine their favorite elements of those experiences" into the plan for 1587 Prime, which will span bout 10,000 square feet across two floors with several private dining rooms that are said to include "hyper-subtle nods to Patrick and Travis' on-field accomplishments."
Kelce called it a "one-of-a-kind dining experience," with both players agreeing that there's no "better place to start than our very own Kansas City."
Noble 33 co-founder Mikey Tanha also celebrated the "convergence of culinary artistry, athletic prowess, community enrichment, and unmatched hospitality" that comes with the new partnership. While there's no tease of the menu yet, GMA did share a series of renderings of what fans and food lovers can expect the venue to look like and promised one of the largest wine collections in the state to complement its offerings.
