Travis Kelce Reacts to NFL Commentator's Taylor Swift Puns Amid Romance Rumors
Travis Kelce is a fan of a game day strategy incorporating his crush and rumored love interest, Taylor Swift.
Amid reports that the Kansas City Chiefs player is spending time with the “Lavender Haze” crooner, one NFL commentator went above and beyond to incorporate puns that only Swifties would pick up on.
During the Sept. 17 broadcast of NFL GameDay Morning, Rich Eisen had no shortage of references during his commentary.
Eisen joked that Kelce, who played in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, previously left a “Blank Space” in the team’s lineup when he was sidelined with a knee injury, before continuing, "But I think he returns today and proves to be the anti-hero."
"Even though that bone bruise and the injury, one would think is delicate, he's been able to shake it off,” he further declared of the tight end’s return to the field.
Eisen shared a video montage of all the creative quips on his Instagram, captioning it, “Look what you made me do, @killatrav,” garnering quite a reaction from Kelce.
“Well played Rich...Well played," he wrote in addition to clapping and laughing emojis, revealing that it was all in good fun.
Eisen wasn’t the only one channeling his inner Swiftie as NFL announcer Ian Eagle also made a comment to note that Kelce found the “Blank Space” for the score.
Neither Kelce nor Swift have addressed the dating rumors even though it’s been a week since The Messenger reported that the duo has been “quietly hanging out.”
During a recent postgame chat, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce was asked about his younger brother’s alleged involvement with Swift, but he remained tight-lipped, simply smiling and stating, "I've seen these rumors, I cannot comment."
While he didn't say much to confirm there's romance between his brother and Swift, he didn't totally shut down the possibility, either.
"Ever since Catching Kelce, everybody's been infatuated with Travis' love life," Jason continued, adding, "I don't really know what's going on there. So, yeah, I know Travis is having fun, and we'll see what happens with whoever he ends up with."
Kelce previously opened up on his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce about how disappointed he was that he didn’t get to meet Swift when he attended an Eras Tour show.
"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings [every night on tour]," he said, adding, "I was a little butthurt that I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."
