Travis Kelce Reacts to Reporter Who Refuses to Ask Him About Girlfriend Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs speaks to the media during Kansas City Chiefs media availability ahead of Super Bowl LVIII

Travis Kelce was recently seen in footage from a new interview, and the topic at hand diverted from what has been the norm as of late.

The record-breaking Kansas City Chiefs tight end has seen a major spike in publicity over the past several months after going public with his romance with Taylor Swift, and naturally, the blossoming relationship is what most people want to know more about when given the opportunity to speak with him.

But one reporter decided against leaning into the Swift-heavy banter during a chat that took place just ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl—where the pro footballer's team will take on the San Francisco 49ers—making it known that he wouldn't be bringing up Kelce's new girlfriend.

"Now, Travis, I'm not gonna ask you about your girl, man, that's not my job; I'm not gonna do that," the sports anchor told the athlete, to which Kelce aptly quipped, "That would be a first."

Sarcasm, indeed, but his comment also rings true given how much the Catching Kelce alum has been inundated with invasive questions about his relationship with the "Lavender Haze" singer—from being asked about if he's heard any of her new music to whether or not he plans to propose.

In the comment section of the thread on X (formerly Twitter), one eagle-eyed fan noticed that the reporter had actually interviewed Kelce in the past, and now seems to be singing a new tune: "This is the guy from training camp that tried to get Travis to spill about Taylor in August."

"I thought he looked familiar," someone else replied.

A third theorized, "They are trying to detract him from his Game with all the Taylor questions," while an additional social media user insisted, "He’s so funny," assumably for the way he responded to the anchor's comment.

Kelce is currently in Las Vegas, where he and the Chiefs are preparing for the biggest game of the season against the 49ers. Swift may make an appearance at the sporting event, traveling into town all the way from her shows in Tokyo, Japan, to support her beau.
