Travis Kelce Recalls Getting Shot Down Trying to Give Taylor Swift His Phone Number

Newly single Taylor Swift is wrapping up the U.S. leg of her Eras tour early next month, but not before a missed encounter that could have very well put another notch in her lipstick case. During the 33-year-old's stop in Kansas City, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce says he tried in vain to give Swift his phone number. But sadly, it wasn't to be.

Kelce, also 33, made the confession during Wednesday's new episode of his New Heights podcast that he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," the younger Kelce brother explained, when asked how the recent concert was. "So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

"You made her a bracelet?" Jason interjected, somewhat incredulously. "Out of what?"

"Yeah, if you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are a friendship bracelets," Travis continued. "And I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it. All right now.”

"Your number as in 87 or your phone number?" Jason asked, to which Travis replied slyly: "You know which one."

"She doesn’t meet anybody and at least she didn’t want to meet me so I, um, I took that personal," he added. "But it was an unbelievable show and I’ve only seen Arrowhead [Stadium] filled like that for Chiefs games with that much excitement, and yeah, everybody was dressed in pink and purple going crazy for her. It was a wild show.”

Jason then pointed out that as a Philadelphia Eagles fan, the Pennsylvania native may not have gotten over the Super Bowl yet, and maybe just "made something up" because she didn't want to talk to him.

That certainly would track, as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Eagles in the 2023 Super Bowl. It was incidentally the first time in NFL history that two brothers faced off against one another on separate teams, leading some fans to dub the game "The Kelce Bowl."

In early June, Swift broke things off with 1975 frontman Matty Healy, whom she briefly dated after the end of her six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn. Although the "Anti-Hero" singer typically sticks to dating actors and musicians, maybe she could give an athlete a shot?

Of course, that's if she can shake off the sting of that Eagles loss, anyway.
