Travis Kelce Shares His Reaction to Mama Kelce’s ‘Underwhelmed’ First Thoughts on Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce is known for his earnest and honest personality, and that was on full display in a new interview as he shared his initial reaction to his mother Donna Kelce's thoughts on Taylor Swift at the start of their relationship.

Kelce sat down with the Wall Street Journal to discuss a variety of topics, with Swift being at the forefront. At one point, he discussed Mama Kelce's appearance on the Today show in early October, when she answered a question about meeting Swift at one of Kelce's games and said of their interaction, "It was OK."

She also commented on Swift's relationship with her son, saying, "Yeah, it's fairly new so…I don't like to talk about it. It's just one of those things where obviously everybody saw me. I was in the box with [Taylor] and it's just another thing that's amped up my life."

According to the new WSJ interview, Donna "berated herself" for her response to the question about Swift, noting that, "Trying not to sound too enthusiastic, she came off underwhelmed." In response, Kelce called his mother and "assured her that she did a super job—adding that her green eyeglasses looked great."

Donna appears much more openly excited about the relationship now, telling the publication, "He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time…. God bless him, he shot for the stars!”

Despite Donna's worries about her early statements regarding Swift, many fans noted how much it looked like she enjoyed hanging out with the singer while watching football games, and not long after that, Donna was spotted at the movie theater watching Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film, even posing with some Swifties also there to watch the show.

Maybe one day soon, Donna can join her son in seeing Swift perform live at one of her world tour stops.
