Travis Kelce's Ex Kayla Nicole Issues Strong Message About Dating Athletes

Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole is fully ready to find someone new, and apparently, she won’t be seeking out any more football stars while looking for her next mate.

The sports journalist recently swore off dating athletes during a conversation on the Behind the Likes podcast—and even though she will "never say never," Nicole is pretty sure she wants something different for her future.

"I'll never say never, but I fully, wholeheartedly believe that I am out of the athlete stage," the 32-year-old told hosts Winter Blanco and Chy Fontenette during their Wednesday, Jan. 24 podcast episode.

But Nicole said she still wants to find herself a powerful man.

"I do think that I am attracted to men in positions of power and I also think that those types of men are attracted to me," she explained, insisting that she would still like to attend some sporting events, but not as a WAG.

"I would love to date an executive of a record label or a movie producer so that we can go to the sporting events. Let date night be courtside at the Laker game, that’s my kind of guy," the brand ambassador said.

Nicole, who dated Kelce between 2017 and 2022, said she no longer feels the need to "go to any more sporting events because I have a jersey on with somebody's name on the back."

"I did that—it was fun. I'm good," she insisted.

But Kelce's new girlfriend Taylor Swift appears to just be getting started when it comes to her new life as a football WAG, and she previously admitted that she's been "missing out" on the sport for most of her life.

"Football is awesome, it turns out," the singer said in her cover story as TIME's 2023 Person of the Year. "I’ve been missing out my whole life."

But Swift is certainly making up for it now, as she has shown up to several games this season to support Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs as they continue on in the fight to earn a spot in Super Bowl LVIII.
