How Travis Kelce's Mom Donna Kelce Helped Him Build Confidence as a 'Shy' Child

Travis Kelce might be effortlessly confident and charming now, but it wasn't always easy for him.
According to the football player, 34, he used to be a "shy kid," he said during a pre-Super Bowl press conference on Friday. Feb. 2, revealing that it was actually his mom, Donna Kelce, who helped him come out of his shell.
"My mom's home videos, man. Just having that camera on me at all times," the Kansas City Chiefs star told reporters when asked where he gets his confidence. "Seeing what silly stuff I’m gonna do next."
"Honestly, I’ve always been comfortable in the rooms that I’ve been in and I’ve just been fortunate that, I don’t know, I’ve been able to kinda look into a camera with ease, I guess," he continued. "I don’t know, it’s just having fun out there, I guess."
But in addition to Mama Kelce, Travis also said he found a lot of confidence by playing sports, which eventually "propelled me to have confidence in life," he added.
"You won’t believe it, but I was a shy kid growing up, up until I got onto the sports field, or the court, or the ice rink," the tight end said. "And then I kinda let my personality show a little bit more because I was having fun, I was having success."
And he's clearly still having success, as he and the Kansas City Chiefs are about to face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII later this month.
The big game on Feb. 11 will come just a few weeks after his team was crowned AFC Champions during their game against the Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 28—a game famously attended by his girlfriend Taylor Swift and the rest of the pop star's camp.
Fans are hoping they will see the "Cruel Summer" songstress in the stands at the Super Bowl to support Travis, and even though she's playing a show in Tokyo the night before, the Swifties are pretty sure she'll make it to Las Vegas in time to see her lover play!
