Travis Scott Promotes John McEnroe's Nike Tennis Shoes
Many sneakerheads consider the 1990s as the golden era of basketball sneakers. If so, that means the 1980s were just as important for tennis shoes. During that extravagant decade, John McEnroe roamed the tennis courts with authority in Nike shoes.
McEnroe debuted the Nike Mac Attack in 1984, and the shoes have never been re-released - until now. To help build up even more hype for the shoe's highly anticipated return, Nike enlisted rapper Travis Scott to star in a short video next to McEnroe.

It is important to note that the shoes are releasing in their OG colorway, not a collaboration between Scott and Nike. However, that could change in the future. Plus, the brand Social Status has an upcoming collaboration with Nike on the model coming in new colorways.
But old-school sneakerheads and tennis fans should still be prepared for this highly anticipated drop. Below is an official image, details, and release information to prepare you for the release.
Nike Attack SP 'OG'
The Nike Attack SP is releasing in the 'OG' colorway on Friday, June 23, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Online shoppers can purchase the shoes for $120 in adult sizes on the Nike website and SNKRS app.
It is safe to assume that the shoes will sell out in part to their popularity and rumored low production numbers. Once that happens, consumers can try their luck on sneaker platforms such as StockX, GOAT, eBay, and KICKS CREW.
Nike kept almost everything the same on the model except for the name. The brand dropped 'Mac' from the shoe's name. But the silhouette remains the same. The mesh and leather upper features a blend of black and grey. Meanwhile, the white midsole and grey outsole provide the base of the shoe.
The only infusion of color comes with the blue and black checkerboard tongue tag highlighted by red Nike branding. As Nike will soon demonstrate, there is no need to get splashy when the fundamentals work just fine.
