This Tree Library Is The Cutest Place To Borrow Books Ever
The coolest library we've ever come across is built INTO a tree in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It's basically a tree house crossed with a book store - every reading lover's dream!
Completed only a few weeks ago by artist, and former bookbinder, Sharalee Armitage Howard, this library is now part of the Free Little Library Organization. FLL has more than 75,000 registered book-sharing boxes (and now tree libraries!) in 90 countries across the world. In a Facebook post, Sharlene wrote she always wanted to have her own Free Little Library, and her passion for this project truly came across in the design details.
She shared progress updates of her family's project on Facebook, showing stone steps leading up to the tree, a green painted door and matching roof, interior lighting as well as a fixture above the exterior of the door, and of course, bookshelves.
Beyond those fundamentals, she finished off her little library with special details like custom wooden books decorating the door frame, including titles like Call of The Wild, The Hobbit, and series like Nancy Drew.
Sharalee and her family not only completed an impressive, and unique, DIY project, but extended the life of a tree that otherwise would have been completely dug up and sent to the wood-chipper. If this doesn't totally warm your heart, then you definitely need to go visit this Free Little Library for yourself.
