Triangular box braids are a unique style that'll definitely give your hair some edge. The star-shaped pattern it creates, as well as the two-toned hair colors, will definitely turn heads - and the best part is, the style lasts for four to six weeks.

1. Section and part your hair. Start with a small section at the base of your neck, and create a horizontal part from mid-ear to mid-ear.

2. Use gel to smooth any flyaways. Apply Creme of Nature Perfect Edges to create cleaner parts and to smooth any hairs.

3. Create triangular parts. Divide the first section of hair in three by starting at the middle and creating two slanting lines on both sides to achieve triangle-like shapes.

4. Braid in extensions for a longer length. Use extensions one shade lighter than your natural hair color, and weave them into each braid you sectioned off.

5. Braid each section all the way down.

6. Part your hair again. Create another horizontal part - above the section you just braided - from just under the tip of your ear to your other ear.

7. Create more triangular parts. Match the points of each triangle to make a star pattern.

8. Repeat steps 4 and 5.

9. Part a semi-circle from temple to temple. Following that part, braid a micro-cornrow from each side, and meet them in the middle.

10. Part another semi-circle starting at mid-brow. Following that part, braid a micro-cornrow from each side, and meet them in the middle.

11. Map out the rest of your triangular parts. Part out triangles for the last sections you created in steps 9 and 10, and create two more micro-braids on each side of your head, crossing downward over the ones you just created. Braid extensions into the triangular sectioned pieces, and work the ends of the micro-braids into the closest section.

12. Seal the ends of your hair. Once all the triangular sections of your hair are braided, dip the ends of the braids into hot water to seal them and to make the braids more flexible.

11. Add embellishments as desired.

12. Create a bun at the top of your head. Secure braids with an elastic, and wrap them around the base in a spiral direction to create a top bun.
