When it’s late in the day and you’re tired, sometimes you feel tempted to skip your skin care routine. However, it’s critical to your skin’s health that you always take off your makeup and wash your face before sleep. Your skin renews itself overnight, but leaving makeup on could lead to acne, eye irritation, aging and dullness, according to a blog post by Westlake Dermatology in Texas.

Worst case scenario, you could use a makeup wipe then hit the hay. However, makeup wipes aren’t exactly the most sustainable, and sometimes they can irritate your skin.

I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but when I’m tired, I dread getting up to wash my face. I also find that my regular face wash doesn’t always remove all of my makeup. So recently, I tried the reusable Makeup Eraser.

Let me tell you, this thing really works. It may look and feel like a simple washcloth. But according to its product description, it’s actually a patented material with millions of tiny hair-like fibers that act as a magnet for makeup, oil and dirt. Simply wet the cloth with plain, warm water, and wipe it over your face in a circular motion.

It removes all of my makeup, from foundation and lipstick to eyeliner and mascara. And my skin feels squeaky clean after using it. When I finish, I sometimes flip it over and use it to apply a toner, too. The cloth is super soft and hypoallergenic, so it doesn’t bother my sensitive skin.

The Makeup Eraser is a more sustainable option than using cotton pads and makeup wipes. It’s machine washable and even comes with a wash bag for tossing in with your clothes. According to the brand, it lasts three to five years and replaces up to 3,600 makeup wipes.

I recently gifted one of the Makeup Eraser’s 7-Day Sets to a friend for her birthday, and she said that she’s hooked now, too. The 7-Day Sets include one small makeup eraser for each day of the week, so you always use a clean cloth to wash your face. You can get either a single Makeup Eraser or a set in several different colors and prints to match your own style.
