I Tried the Viral 'Fluffy Coke' and I Can See Why It’s the Drink of the Summer
There's been a resurgence this summer of a classic nostalgic treat: Marshmallow Fluff. And, no, this one isn't a sandwich paired with peanut butter. This time, the sweet stuff is used in a drink called a Fluffy Coke.
TikTok always has your back when you're struggling for food inspiration, and this summer's exquisite parade of delicious drinks has people running to their kitchens to try out every single one (including me). So when I found out about Fluffy Coke, I was intrigued. Read on for how this sweet experiment went in my kitchen.

What is Fluffy Coke?
More than just a fun-to-say name, fluffy Coke is a cup lined with marshmallow fluff, then filled with ice and Coke. It's become an instant hit on TikTok, with creators slurping this one up almost as quickly as they make it.

How Do You Make Fluffy Coke?
This one couldn't be simpler: take a pint glass, line it with marshmallow fluff (don't forget the bottom!), then add ice and Coca-Cola. Stick in a straw and have fun scraping the marshmallow down the sides as you sip your sweet fizzy masterpiece.
TikTokers have many different versions of this one: Regular Coke and Marshmallow Fluff, Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme and Diet Coke and one creator even went so far as to hit the Mickey D's drive-thru (where the fountain Coke hits different) with a jar of marshmallow goodness in his passenger seat.
I searched high and low at three stores but could not locate Marshmallow Fluff (probably because everyone is home in the air conditioning making this drink!) so I settled on a fantastic gourmet local version. Don't stress—whatever you have on hand will work for this one.

What I Thought About the Fluffy Coke
I was delighted to try this one out since it's all the rage online and I've been expanding my range of sweet drinks all summer, experimenting just as much as the TikTokers are. This one was pretty good, albeit sweet. A few tips: use a frosty glass, use cold Coca-Cola and grab a boba (or similar) straw.
The one issue with this drink? "All that you’re gonna get is pop with globs of marshmallow floating in it," says one Redditor. "The more you try to incorporate the Fluff, the more fizz you’ll lose. It sounds comparable to a root beer float, so I say just go the ice cream route," and I'd have to agree. While the drink was great up front, I sipped slowly in order to not have a complete sugar crash. However, the slower I drank, the more the ice melted, of course, and the more my fluffy Coke lost its fizz. Scraping down the sides with the straw was pretty fun though and the combination of a classic, ice-cold Coca-Cola with a marshmallow twist reminded me of being a kid again. And what's better than that?
