MASSILLON – Ya mon, it's a party! The Massillon Museum will host the 30th installment of its Island Party on Friday.

The family-friendly event is a thank you to the community for its continued support.

From island eats and drinks to island music, guests can expect a care-free island good time.

"We're mixing things up this year," museum Executive Director Alexander Nicholis Coon said.

Vendors will provide food for the event. In the past, volunteers and museum staff would spend hours preparing the party fare.

"We're taking it out of our hands," Nicholis Coon added, but "guests can expect the same fun traditional fan favorites that bring them back year after year."

The vendors — including the Greatness Cafe inside the museum — will offer menus that include guest favorites such as pulled pork, jerk chicken and fruit skewers. They also will offer other menu items, including poke bowls.

Gessner Hall will be used as a cooling station and educational activities will be held inside, freeing up lawn space.

"The weather looks beautiful and warm so come on and enjoy the party," Nicholis Coon added.

Here's what you need to know if you attend the Island Party:
