So, Turns Out Prince William and His Uncle Prince Edward Have Insane Drama
Prince Charles had a ~royal feud~ with his brother Prince Edward back in 2001.
Edward's TV production company was caught trying to film at William's university and Wills was "furious."
This past year has been dominated by Prince William and Prince Harry's endless royal drama (literally, it's exhausting), but apparently William's had tension with other members of the royal family. According to The Express, William got into a whole thing with his uncle Prince Edward when Edwards television production company rolled up to his university to try to get some tea.
The incident went down in 2001, and is chronicled in royal correspondent Robert Jobson's book William’s Princess. “William was furious," Jobson writes. “He felt his uncle’s company’s actions had threatened to undermine the carefully nurtured relationship between St James’s Palace and the media, and in turn that it would threaten the entente cordiale between him and the press.”
Meanwhile, Prince Charles apparently went "ballistic" and "berated his youngest sibling, furiously demanding from the Queen that Edward be made to to choose once and for all between his public duties and his television production company."
A spokeswoman for Prince Charles went so far as to say that the Prince was "Disappointed, very much so," while officials said he was "in a rage." Jobson even says he "learned that Prince Charles tore into his brother in a telephone conversation.”
In other words, royal sibling drama has been going down long before Prince Harry and Prince William took center stage.
