TV Host Cari Champion Just Launched a New Podcast Called ‘The Brownprint,’ and It’s a Must-Listen

2 min read

Veteran TV journalist Cari Champion is taking on yet another project, and we couldn't hit the subscribe button faster.

In addition to co-hosting Vice's Stick to Sports, a new weekly talk show with her colleague and friend Jemele Hill, and co-hosting NBC’s The Titan Games, an athletic-competition show with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Champion just launched a new podcast called The Brownprint in partnership with Estée Lauder.

The show sees Champion speak with a diverse roster of successful individuals from every industry, ranging from entertainers and athletes to business executives and journalists. Champion aims create an open dialogue with her guests as they discuss powerful topics relating to the state of progress in America, the marginalization of women, the suppression of people of color and how to find your way in this ever-changing cultural landscape.

Champion is no stranger to these uncomfortable conversations. In January, after seven years at ESPN, Champion swiftly exited what seemed like the ultimate dream job: an anchor on the network's flagship show, SportsCenter. Last month, she told The Cut, "ESPN gave me an amazing platform and helped me narrow my focus on what mattered...and to be honest with you, if I was with ESPN, I couldn’t speak on social-justice issues and police brutality. I just couldn’t have done it without feeling as if the company would say, 'We really don’t want to be associated with that.' When I got to that point at ESPN where I wasn’t able to do something, I said, Okay, that’s my nonnegotiable. It’s time for me to jump.'"

This new podcast is brought to you by launch sponsor Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup. It’s a heat-resistant, waterproof foundation that unifies uneven skin tone and looks fresh, flawless and natural, which makes sense given The Brownprint is all about confidence and how to feel comfortable in your own skin.
