  • Jenny McCarthy did a suuuuper awkward red-carpet interview with Christina Applegate at the 2019 Emmy Awards.

  • Unsurprisingly, Twitter had a bunch of things to say about it!

Okay, I’m just going to come out and say it: I freakin’ love award shows. And no, it’s not because I know every single thing nominated, and nope, it’s not even because of the jaw-dropping/stunning outfits. It’s because of all the awkward, WTF-inducing moments that grace the screen and make me laugh my fat ass off. And of course, the 2019 Emmy Awards is absolutely no exception to this!!! Tonight saw Jenny McCarthy hosting the Emmys red carpet for Fox, and boy, a lottttt of people had a ton of sh*t to say about her questionable hosting and interviewing skills. Let’s discuss!

So why were people pissed off? Well, on top of the fact that she’s a vocal anti-vaxxer (which has nothing to do with Jenny’s hosting skills, but people of course brought that up), red-carpet viewers on Twitter were super annoyed by Jenny’s interview with Christina Applegate and used it as a launching pad to pop TF OFF. Apparently, Jenny said that she wanted to be just like Christina (who starred in the ’90s sitcom, Married...With Children) when she was older...but the gag is that they’re only one year apart in age. So naturally, everyone online started hating on Jenny for it.

I mean, I can totally understand why Jenny wanted to be Christina...even though they’re the same age! I used to watch Married...With Children and thought that Christina’s character, Kelly Bundy, was absolutely hilarious. Oh! And had enviable style to boot. But of course, Twitter is one of the toughest crowds to win over. I mean, there’s always a next time for Jenny...right?
