Twitter is *begging* Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt to get back together

The official afterglow of Valentine’s Day has come to a very abrupt end as Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced their separation after two years of marriage. According to the Associated Press, the split “was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.” The couple began dating in 2011 and married in a surprise 2015 ceremony.

Naturally, people are devastated for Aniston, because it seemed like she’d finally found forever love with Theroux — after all that drama involving Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. But it seems it wasn’t meant to be, and as Aniston’s personal life has long been the subject of a ridiculous amount of tabloid fodder, her publicist also released a statement for her, saying, “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”

The news comes just days after Aniston reportedly celebrated her birthday with BFF Courteney Cox and other close friends in Malibu while Theroux was in New York City.

And because the internet is a magical place, Twitter has already found a silver lining to Aniston and Theroux’s split: Brad Pitt and Aniston are both single for the first time in years.

In late 2016, Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced they were divorcing after two years of marriage and nearly twelve years together. With Aniston and Pitt both single again, people have decided that they’re destined to be together — and are calling for the early ’00s power couple to reunite.

Brad, wherever you are smoldering at a camera while rolling in the sand, it might be time to shoot Jen a text — or better yet, send her a lobster — because the internet is rooting for you.
