Twitter Cannot Deal With Miley Cyrus Dropping New Music on Liam Hemsworth’s Birthday
Miley Cyrus is about to release new music (yes, pls!), and as ever, timing is everything. First of all, Miley announced her new single “Flowers” just about three years after finalizing her divorce from Liam Hemsworth. Coincidence? Maybe! But let’s look at the lyrics. Or at least the lyrical snippets we have, which include:
“Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Can love me better, I—”
And from her second teaser: “Yeah, I can love me better than you can.”
I mean, could be about anyone, right? Actually, probably not, considering the release date of “Flowers” happens to be January 13, aka Liam’s birthday. And naturally, no one is okay:
Reminder that Miley opened up about why her marriage with Liam broke down during a podcast appearance in 2020, saying, “I recently just went through a very public divorce that fucking sucked. What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we didn’t love each other the way that we used to anymore. I can accept that. I can’t accept the villainizing and all those stories. It’s just amazing to me that the public kind of thinks that there’s no gap of time that they didn’t see that could possibly be what led to this. ‘One day you were happy on the carpet and the next day you were making out with your friend in Italy! What the fuck?’ Well, there was a lot of time between that that you didn’t see…I didn’t, you know.”
