Twitter Just Doubled Character Limit for Tweets
Twitter announced today that they are testing 280-character tweets, doubling the previous character limit.
“Our research shows us that the character limit is a major cause of frustration for people tweeting in English,” the company wrote on their blog. “When people don’t have to cram their thoughts into 140 characters and actually have some to spare, we see more people Tweeting - which is awesome!”
Hmm...
Actual Twitter users are skeptical about the change, and many are especially worried about what they see as Twitter not addressing its real issues - abuse, trolls, and Donald Trump being an abusive troll in 280 characters. Also, everyone still wants an edit button! Where's the damn edit button, Jack!?
