Twitter is (rightfully) roasting Brett Kavanaugh over his unhinged opening statement

Brett Kavanaugh delivered an angry and unhinged opening statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee on September 28th. And Twitter has thoughts.

Today, September 27th, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing in order to investigate the claims made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by professor Christine Blasey Ford. The day began with a powerful opening statement from Ford in which she reiterated that she was “terrified” to be appearing before the committee but believed it was her civic duty to inform the public of her assault at the hands of Kavanaugh—a man who could potentially hold one of the most important positions in our government for life.

After the committee spent the morning questioning Ford, Kavanaugh took her place, sharing an opening statement of his own. Unlike the earnest, composed, and yes, at times, emotional statement from Ford, Kavanaugh appeared angry and defiant. Some even described the judge as “unhinged.”

And, of course, Twitter has thoughts.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation on Friday, September 28th at 9:30 a.m. ET. We can only hope the committee takes the accusations against this man extremely seriously and does what is just—for victims everywhere, and for the American people.
