Twitter Savagely Dragged One Of The Contestants On The Premiere Of Ayesha Curry's New 'Family Food Fight' Show
Last night, Ayesha Curry's American adaptation of the Australian hit show Family Food Fight premiered on ABC. The shtick: Groups of three family members compete for the chance to win a $100,000 prize and to be crowned the best family of cooks in America. The show, which is hosted and executive-produced by Ayesha, also features Graham Elliot (a Michelin-starred chef) and Cat Cora (the first woman inducted into The Culinary Hall of Fame and a mother to six boys!) as judges.

We met four families in this first episode: the Lees (a Chinese mother-daughters trio), the Whites (three soul food-loving cousins), the Lenzis (a daughter and her parents from Chicago), and the Graves (three brothers there to honor their mother).
The participants' slayed the viewers up front with some cooking facts. If you didn't have a chance to tune in, lemme now slay you with them, secondhand:
Your pasta should taste like the sea. This came from the Italian arm of the Lenzi family (the dad), hinting at the fact that you should add tons of salt to the water while cooking your noodles.
If you f*ck up a cake by popping it out of the pan too soon, don't worry about broken pieces. Slice them up on a platter and drizzle 'em with something pretty. Thanks, Graves boys.
Don't be afraid to talk/pray to your food. How else are you going to get it to cook to perfection? White cousins, I'll always remember this.
So many good tips were had, but what stood out to viewers wasn't the sheer amount of kitchen know-how and skill packed into the hourlong episode, it was one rather, um, high-strung contestant. Gabbie Lenzi, the daughter of the Lenzi family trio, went so far as to refer to herself as the one in charge-and she had no problem snapping at her family throughout the episode to prove it. Twitter took note:
Hey Gabby, when you talk smack towards others, you better be able to deliver the goods. #FamilyFoodFight #LenziFamily #BuhBuy

I think the Lenzi daughter is the only one who cooks and she dragged her parents into this to get on TV- the parents seem clueless and she is horrible to them #FamilyFoodFight

I love Family Food Fight and the right teams won, but I seriously hope the daughter of the losing team recognizes what an asshole she was to her parents tonight. #FamilyFoodFight

To her credit, tensions were surely high making it easy to snap at her parents. And for what it's worth, Gabbie seems to be taking the criticism in stride. She posted videos of the viewing party she through on her Instagram story, followed by this hot take from a friend.
YOIKES.
