These Two Cabinet-Maker Brothers Could Be The New Property Brothers
If you follow a lot of home design-focused Instagram accounts, stop what you’re doing right now and go follow @the_brothers_stonington. Their feed is just one beautiful kitchen after the next-all of which are designed by Tyler and Justin Sachs, New Jersey-based brothers and founders of Stonington Cabinetry and Designs. If you’re thinking, But cabinets are just one part of a kitchen, then you would be correct. But if you think about it, cabinets are the heart and foundation of any kitchen, playing a big role in not only the appearance of the space but also the functionality.
That’s why the Stonington team has taken custom cabinetry to another level: They draft the design and layout of the kitchen, order the pieces, and install all the cabinetry, as well as oversee installation of appliances and countertops. They say they desire to be the best in the biz, and their work shows off that attention to detail and craftsmanship. Take a look at some of their recent projects and trust us when we say you’ll never look at kitchen cabinets the same again.
According to Tyler and Justin, you should plan your kitchen design from the inside out. “Focus first on the function, and then let the form follow,” Tyler says.
A combination of drawers and cabinet doors of varying sizes makes for tons of practical storage to fit everything a kitchen holds.
And you thought just the outsides of the cabinets were beautiful-not even your worst junk drawer would be embarrassing if it looked like this.
The Stonington team doesn’t limit their cabinetry design to just traditional kitchens-they also do custom butler’s pantries with built-in desks, bars…
...and built-in banquette seating like in this dining nook.
How beautiful is the combination of dark gray cabinets and rich walnut accents?
As you can see, the mouldings and paneling details vary in each kitchen-no two Stonington kitchens are alike!
