Two Iconic Hostess Treats Are Being Made Into Cereal, And We Can't Wait

Thanks to Hostess, you won’t have to choose between having donuts and cereal for breakfast for much longer. Hot on the heels of other fun, sugary cereals like Sour Patch Kids cereal, Banana Crème Frosted Flakes, and Strawberry Rice Krispies, Post Cereal and Hostess are teaming up to make all of our breakfast dreams come true. Soon, you’ll be able to eat Hostess Honey Buns and Donettes in cereal-form!

Yep, those utterly addicting mini powdered sugar donuts we all love to snack on are about to get the cereal treatment. While we’re not sure yet if the cereal itself will be covered in powdered sugar, there’s no way this popular breakfast treat won’t be just as tasty as a cereal.

And if you prefer the swirl of cinnamon buns at breakfast over a dusting of powdered sugar, Hostess’s iconic Honey Buns are set to hit the shelves as cereal right alongside the Donettes. Instead of their usual jumbo-size, the tasty cinnamon rolls are getting shrunk down to spoon-size, but they’ll still keep their classic swirly shape.

If you’re still trying to find a suitably sweet breakfast to serve on Christmas morning, you might be in luck if you’re willing to do a little searching—apparently, both of the new cereals will start hitting the shelves of select stores at the end of December. Either way, you won’t have to wait long to try them, since a nationwide release to all major retailers and grocery stores is planned for January 2019. We can’t wait to try each one (and to try them mixed together!).
