From Cosmopolitan

  • Tyler Cameron discussed what type of Bachelor contestant he thinks would make a great match for Matt James.

  • He also shared what advice he has for his friend, who is entering the franchise as the lead for the next season of The Bachelor.

By now, we all know Matt James as Tyler Cameron’s best friend, the guy who was previously cast on Clare Crawley’s Bachelorette season and had a mini Twitter feud with her, and one seventh of the Quarantine Crew. Once The Bachelorette wraps, it’ll be time to jump right into Matt James’s journey as The Bachelor, and Tyler has some thoughts about what he’d like to see during this season.

While promoting his partnership with Optimum Nutrition’s weeklong ‘Better Than Before’ Instagram Live programming, Tyler gave some advice to Matt via a convo with Cosmopolitan. First off, Tyler said, “I think he’s going to be a ton of fun as The Bachelor,” because Matt’svery fun and loose with a goofy personality.”

That said, Tyler definitely thinks Matt will take the show seriously with the hope of finding love. Tyler added, “It’ll be the best of both worlds. He’s very genuine, he’s going to build great relationships, and hopefully, he can find the right person after all this.”

Before Matt went off to film, Tyler gave him some advice as a Bach Nation alum and told Matt, “Be you, man. That’s why you’re here. It’s a testament to your character and what kind of person you are to become The Bachelor out of nowhere.”

As for what kind of contestant Tyler thinks has the best shot of getting Matt’s final rose, he said it has to be “someone who is going to be outgoing, who is going to be fun.” Tyler continued, “You got to be able to match his energy—he’s got a lot of energy. But he can also chill out. So someone who is ready to go on an adventure and do whatever is what Matt’s going to need.”

In the meantime, Tyler will absolutely be tuning into Clare’s season because “it’s [the franchise] like watching a dumpster fire!”

Clare’s season premieres October 13 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET, as The Bachelor continues filming.
