Tyler McCaul To Build New Trails In Southern Utah

One of the coolest parts of mountain biking is the active role pros take in building trails. In what other sport do the athletes build the venue? You don’t see Connor McDavid on the Zamboni or Patrick Mahomes rolling out sod at Arrowhead.

And yet, big names from pro mountain biking are very involved in trail building. One of these riders is Tyler McCaul. See him tease his new trail project in Southern Utah below.

Tyler McCaul has been one of the biggest names in freeride over the past 20 years. Since becoming famous with his brother Cam for the stunts they were doing in the early 2000s, Tyler has been a mainstay of freeride, getting Fifth at Rampage Four times.

He lives in Southern Utah, the Mecca of freeride.

It was for this reason that when McCaul received a grant from the Ford Motor Company to build trails, he chose an area right beside Zion National Park, near his home.

These trails will be open to the public in the spring of 2024, and as you can tell they look fun, starting with the beautiful drop-in.
