Yes, you can wear Ugg slippers during the summer (Just ask Gigi and Bella Hadid)

I know what you’re thinking: ‘Why on Earth would I be slightly interested in reading about, better yet investing in, Ugg slippers?’

Listen, I get it. The company name itself practically screams winter apparel and cozy nights in. But what if I told you, and read closely as I blow your mind, that Ugg footwear was originally were made for… the summer. That’s right, the summertime! Also known as the hot and humid season during which you won’t ever stop sweating.

All the way back in the 1970s the creator of the Ugg brand, Brian Smith, was a surfer dude in Southern California who started selling his own sheepskin boots. The brand took off, because so many people loved wearing the boots — on a beach, in the summer!

In fact, it wasn’t until the mid 1980s that the boots began their journey toward becoming the winter weather essential we all know today.

With that brief history lesson done, I’m back to say Ugg slippers specifically are a necessity for the summertime. Especially because so many flip flop Ugg styles are perfect for letting your toes free all the while making your feet feel like they’re snuggled into clouds.

They’re a perfect summer fit, because you can slide them on and off as easily as any flip flop or sandal. The only difference is the upgrade in comfort. And, if you’re worried about the slippers adding too much heat to your already toasty days, fear not.
