Um, Hilary Duff Just Got Bangs Straight Out of the '70s
Hilary Duff just got retro ‘70s bangs and a layered haircut, which she showed off on Instagram.
She chopped her hair just weeks before the upcoming season premiere of her show Younger.
Hi, sorry-did you get the memo? Did everyone get the memo? I feel like my memo must be around here somewhere…you know, the one that states EVERYONE SHOULD GET BANGS?! Between Sophie Turner’s bang moment (which, heads up, were just extensions), Miley Cyrus’s Hannah Montana bangs, and Lana Condor’s shaggy bangs, I feel like Hollywood is def trying to tell me something about the state of my hair.
Because the latest celeb who for sure got the memo? Hilary Duff, who just showed off a major summer haircut and, most importantly, her new fluttery, layered, ‘70s bangs.
And lest you think this whole thing is a fake-out, Hilary, everyday hero, actually captured the haircut on her Instagram Stories, writing “@nikkilee90 she loves me. I give her so much stress and she’s still willing to give me a bang.”
The Nikki in question is celeb hairstylist Nikki Lee, who is the same hair wizard who dyed Hilary’s hair a bright, platinum blonde back in December (hi, will you do my hair, too, please?).
“Well @nikkilee901 came thru with these fly 70s summer bangers,” Hilary captioned an Insta photo of her new hair, adding “Mama feeling good.”

If you’re not picking up on the throwback reference, Hilary’s new bangs are perfectly feathered and flipped out like every cool-girl bang of the 1970s, like a Farrah-Fawcett-shag hybrid. And yes, they’re the exact hairstyle everyone on your Insta feed will be trying this summer.
According to Lee, Hilary’s new cut came in the middle of a press tour for her upcoming 6th season of my actual favorite show Younger, which premieres June 12th, 2019 (two weeks, baby!). Haters will say the perfectly timed haircut is for the publicity, but haters can excuse themselves from this convo, because only Hilary Duff purists are welcome here.
