  • Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet secretly got married a full 19 months before their wedding on Selling Sunset.

  • My mind. Is blown.

Remember Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet’s wedding on Selling Sunset? Yeah, well, about that. Turns out these two were actually married months before they filmed their wedding for Netflix. And I don’t mean, like, one or two months, friends. I mean 19 months. I repeat: NINETEEN MONTHS.

I’ll give you a moment.

According to TMZ, which got its hands on Mary and Romain’s original marriage certificate, the pair made it official on March 9, 2018, at the Ventura Courthouse. As the outlet notes, Mary and Romain’s marriage took place four months after Mary’s divorce from her second husband and more than a year before their October 2019 wedding on Selling Sunset.

This is all very !!! considering we saw Romain propose to Mary in bed on the show (and they spent an entire season wedding planning), but Mary’s rep says it’s NBD. “Mary and Romain had a civil union a couple of months before the show began filming in June of 2018, but they chose not to tell any of their friends or family, as they were still trying to see if their relationship would work out in the long term,” the rep told People. “In their minds, they weren’t properly married until the wedding that was filmed during the show.”

In other words, Selling Sunset fans aren’t the only people this wedding was kept secret from!
